Professor Dr. Ata Özdemirci, who completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Civil Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, began his academic career at Marmara University in 2002. He received his master's and doctoral degrees from the Department of Management and Organization Science, Department of Business Administration, Marmara University. Having obtained the title of Associate Professor in 2015 in the field of “Management and Strategy,” Özdemirci currently serves as a faculty member at the Faculty of Business Administration at Marmara University; he teaches “History of Civilization,” “Social Entrepreneurship,” “Philosophy of Science,” and “Business Management” courses in various undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. His “History of Civilization” course, made publicly accessible on YouTube and Spotify, has a large number of followers.
He is the author of works such as “Those Who Write Their Own Story: Entrepreneurial Businesswomen Speak,” “Corporation and Popular Culture,” and “Strategic Leadership and Organizational Alignment,” as well as “Science, Philosophy and Methodology,” co-authored with Şadi Can Saruhan, and “Strategic Management and Business Policy in Enterprises,” co-authored with Erol Eren. In addition, many of his scientific articles have been published in international academic journals and his works have received hundreds of citations.
In his academic studies and books, Özdemirci specializes in philosophy of science, strategic management, popular culture, human resources, and corporate entrepreneurship; he has carried out corporate transformation projects in many established companies and founded a leadership academy. He is also one of the founders of a technology company called Steto, which operates in the field of online healthcare services.
